SUPPLIER EVALUATION
A factory audit helps buyers understand whether a supplier can deliver consistent products at the required volume. It should evaluate real processes and records, not only the appearance of the showroom.
Business and Product Scope
Confirm company details, main products, export experience, key markets and whether the facility performs manufacturing, assembly, testing or only trading. Review relevant product samples and project experience.
Production Capability
Check production lines, equipment, staffing, monthly capacity, maintenance and peak-season planning. Compare claimed capacity with visible equipment and production records.
Quality Management
Review incoming inspection, in-process checks, final inspection, testing equipment, calibration records, defect handling and traceability. Ask how nonconforming products are separated and corrected.
Customization and Engineering
For OEM/ODM projects, evaluate engineering resources, sample development, drawings, firmware control, tooling management and change approval procedures.
Warehouse and Packing
Materials and finished goods should be identified and organized. Check inventory records, environmental conditions, carton protection, shipping marks and loading procedures.
An audit does not guarantee perfect orders, but it reveals risks and helps buyers establish suitable controls before cooperation begins.
